[Review] Dr.Scheller Pomegranate Tonic

HELLO INTERNET!

I dedicate a post to review a product that I have finished few months ago, which I think merits a review because it has very positive sides, but also quite annoying flaws.

The reason I purchased this tonic of Dr. Scheller is without doubt the presence of Pomegranate extract, which has excellent properties for the health of our body: an antioxidant effect, which slows down cellular aging; reduces skin patches having a slight whitening power.

It is a product with organic ingredients and certified BDIH. One of the certifications that include virtually all aspects of production: from raw materials to packagings.
So surely this is a great advantage for this tonic which I greatly appreciated.

The fragrance is a very fresh citrus-like one, maybe too strong and I think it cannot please everyone for this reason.

It is a tonic with Alcohol in its formula, but in such proportions that it is absolutely not aggressive for the skin.

A very important aspect, that defines the functionality of this product, is the presence of a surfactant (Caprylyl/Capryl Glucoside) that, albeit biodegradable and from natural derivation, in my opinion is not suitable for this type of product; or maybe it's just in too high quantities.
Being a tonic a very fluid liquid to be used to complete the facial cleansing, astringent and balancing, I find useless the presence so overwhelming a highly-foaming surfactant, which makes it a potentially cleaning product.
In fact, by applying on the skin a cotton pad with the tonic, it forms a slight foam making the skin very sticky (in plus, even considering the presence of aloe also).
Of course rinsing your face well, as usual, this feeling disappears, but the fact is that I just don't like it to be this kind of a product considering my needs.

Also I have found not enough astringent effects in the areas where I have very dilated pores.

In conclusion: it's a fairly gentle cleansing tonic with a citrus-like scent, which manages to soften the skin giving a silky feeling; but it is a little annoying and heavy the foaming effect during the application. The price is acceptable: about 5/6 € for 150 mL, PAO: 12 months.

My suggestion is to give it a chance if you use for facial cleansing micellar water, to enhance the cleaning effect on the face due to the presence of the surfactant, which in this case might be helpful.

Thanks for reading this far!

Write you soon,
Inda.
